iPad information series: How to calibrate iPad screen colour?

Making sure your refurbished iPad screen is functioning and performing to the best of its ability is certainly something this is important. There are a few basic features that you can check and alter within the settings on an iPad.

How to adjust the screen brightness on an iPad

Apple have included a brilliant sensor within iPad models that will adjust the screen brightness automatically. To ensure this feature is turned on, you can select settings, accessibility, then click display & text size, and ensure the auto brightness is on.

Screen brightness can also be adjusted manually at any time and there are 2 easy methods to do this. The first and easiest, is to open the control centre (swipe down from the top right-hand corner) and then you can adjust the brightness using the slider containing a picture of the sun. The second method is to open settings, select display & brightness and then use the slider to adjust accordingly.

Do iPads have True Tone?

True Tone technology uses sensors to measure the brightness and ambient light and will then automatically adjust its display to reflect this, ensuring the colours are more consistent and accurate. During the release of True Tone technology in its iPad Pro 9.7 in 2016, Apple stated a True Tone display “uses four-channel sensors to dynamically adjust the white balance of the display to match the light around you for a more natural and accurate, paper-white viewing experience.”

The following iPad models all have True Tone technology:

Supporting iPad models will automatically enable True Tone, however you can turn on or off within settings if you wish. To do this, simply open settings, go to display & brightness, then select True Tone.

Do iPads have Dark Mode?

Dark Mode gives the device a dark coloured theme and will often use a white or light-coloured text on a black or dark background in order to reduce the light emitted. Refurbished iPad models able to receive the latest IOS software updates will allow for dark mode to be used.
