The IMEI number is a unique number given to all mobile phones and tablets that can be used to identify the device. If you enter *#06# on the dialling screen, your phone will display a 15 digit code which is the IMEI number.
Our promise is that we will pay you the price offered at the time of your sale and hold this for 14 days. If you didn't send us your tek within the 14 days we will offer you the current website price.
Please contact the customer services team by email at info@webuytek.co.uk
Don't worry, when we receive your tek we will update our system and send you a revised offer by email.
Of course, providing the device still powers on then we will buy it – Typically faulty devices include smashed screens, faulty buttons and faulty charging ports.
Simply go to Settings -> General -> About and under the Capacity section you will see the number of GB available for storage on your iPhone. Please note: this will always be up to 10% lower than the 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 or 256GB as the operating system is already pre-loaded onto the phone and lowers the storage available. We recommend resetting the phone to its factory default settings then checking the available capacity.

You simply enter your name and we'll make a cheque out payable to that name, which you then need to pop down the bank with.
Provide us with your bank account details (Name, Sort Code & Account Number) and we will pay directly into that account. We know people worry about entering their bank details, but you don't need to. We take the security of your details and our site very seriously. Our site uses SSL Security encryption at various stages throughout the site to protect your information. You'll notice the padlock icon appear in your browser to indicate that your information is being transmitted securely (usually found alongside the address bar). This protects it from interception by unintended recipients.

When you place your order you have 2 options, firstly to download a freepost label which you can use to stick on any packaging you have and send your device to us right away. Secondly there is the option for us to send you out a mail in pack which includes a box and freepost label. The freepost pack typically arrives within 2-3 working days of placing your order.
If you have ordered a mail in pack then this includes a flat pack box and the return freepost label. If you are downloading the freepost label to use on your own packaging then we recommend plenty of bubble wrap and a strong box (ideally the original phone box). Ensure the package is well sealed and the postage label is taped on well enough to survive its journey to us.
Yes, absolutely – If you want to send by your own postal method you will need to post the tek to us at:
WeBuyTek
Unit 15, The Hub
Commercial Road
Darwen
Lancashire
BB3 0FL
Please be aware that we cannot reimburse postal costs if you do not use our freepost label.
No, it's totally free. WeBuyTek provide a Royal Mail 24® Tracked freepost label for you to send your mobile phone/device to us. Our freepost option is fully trackable and insures your tek for up to £100, but if it's worth more, we recommend you send it Special Delivery which typically costs around £6.50.
If your device is booked in as a NEW device, then to get the full quoted price we would need the original box and accessories. If your device is booked in as GOOD or FAULTY then no, the value quoted is for the handset/device only. You are welcome to send accessories with the tek but this will not increase the value quoted.
How you data wipe your device varies from operating system to operating system, and sometimes even device to device. These are general instructions that should work with most devices; however, it's best to check with your manual or manufacturer just to make sure. You can download manuals for most makes and models of phone from the internet.
Android: For versions before Android 4.0, press the Menu key from the Home screen and select Settings/Privacy/Factory data reset. You'll get a warning screen. Scroll toward the bottom and tap "Reset phone." If you also have an SD card in the phone (and don't want to use the data in your next phone), also make sure to check the box next to "Erase SD card."
For Android 4.0 or later, go to Settings and look for "Backup and reset." Tap that, and then, on the next screen, tap "Factory data reset." You'll get a warning screen along with a list of all the accounts you are currently signed into.
iOS (iPhone and iPad): Go to Settings/General/Reset and then tap "Erase all Content and Settings."
Windows Phone 7: Go to the Home screen, then tap the Application Menu Key and select Settings/ System/About/ and tap the "Reset your phone" button.
BlackBerry: Go to Options/Security options/General settings, and then tap menu. Then select Wipe Handheld.
Once you've taken your package to the post office you'll be given a proof of postage receipt and tracking number. (Ensure you hand it in at the post office and do not simply post in a post box).
This tracking number insures your phone for up to £100 and it also allows you to track your tek's journey to us online through Royal Mail's website www.royalmail.com.
The freepost label is a 24 hour service, but please be aware it can sometimes take up to 3 days for post to reach us if there is a delay in the postal service, you can however track your tek at all times for peace of mind.
We will send you an email as soon as we receive your tek. You can also check for updates on your tek's progress by logging on to your account, we recommend you do this regularly and also check your spam folder if you have not received an email from us.

If you provided us with your bank account details or PayPal email address then the funds are sent on the same day we receive your tek and typically arrive 1-3 hours after being sent. Cheque payments are sent via 1st class post which takes 1-3 working days for delivery and then there is a further 3-7 working days for your bank to process the payment.
You can find out online in your account area when you've been paid. We also send you an email to confirm that payment is on its way. If you have received an email from us to say that your tek has a revised offer you will need to go into your account and accept or decline the revised offer or use the link in the email.

With iOS7 or later Apple introduced a new security measure called 'Activation Lock', which is linked to 'Find my iPhone'. If the Activation Lock is still activated, the device will be locked to your iCloud account which is only accessible with your Apple ID and password.
With Android devices activation lock was introduced to prevent someone from activating your device should it be lost or stolen. On Android devices these locks can vary dependent on the device.
If activation lock is enabled on any device we are unable to test it or resell the device, we will be unable to access any of the functions and the device will become inoperable.
It is therefore critical that any activation locks are removed from your device before you sent it to us, if you do not then this will delay the trade-in process while we wait for your login details to remove it.
For Apple devices - If the Activation Lock is still activated, the device will be locked to your iCloud account, which is only accessible with your Apple ID and password. When we try to test, or resell the device we will be unable to access any of the iPad or iPhones functions and the device will become inoperable. Therefore, we won't be able to offer the full price for it as the device will be locked to your Apple ID and we will be unable to access the iPhone or iPad's functions.

For more information please follow the Apple instructions https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201351.
For Android devices – To turn off device protection, Click on settings – Accounts – Select Account – Tap More – Remove account – Please ensure all associated accounts are removed.
If the Activation Lock or device protection is not removed then we won't be able to purchase the device. You may request to have your device returned free of charge within 14 days of receipt.
For Apple Devices - Even if you can't access your device because it is faulty or broken you can still remove activation lock / iCloud account. Removing your iPhone via Find my iPhone is easy and it won't affect your iTunes, Apple ID or anything linked to your iCloud account, it will only unlock the device. Simply Follow the Apple instructions https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201351
For Android devices – Unfortunately if your device is broken or faulty and you can't access your settings then the activation lock cannot be removed. However, when we receive your phone one of our technicians will attempt to gain access to the phone to the point where we can enter your details to remove the lock, we will email you for further details once we receive your device.
