Why iPhone Batteries Degrade Over Time

Lithium-ion batteries, like the ones used in refurbished iPhones, refurbished Samsungs, refurbished Google Pixels, and refurbished Oppos degrade over time. This means that they hold less of a charge and can’t last as long on a single charge. There are a few reasons why this happens:

  • Chemical reactions: As you use your iPhone, the lithium-ion batteries inside it go through chemical reactions that cause them to degrade. These reactions are unavoidable, and they happen even when you’re not using your phone.
  • Temperature: Extreme temperatures can also speed up the degradation of lithium-ion batteries. If you leave your phone in a hot car or in the cold, it can damage the battery and shorten its lifespan.
  • Number of charge cycles: Every time you charge your iPhone, Samsung or Pixel, it goes through a charge cycle. The more charge cycles your battery goes through, the more it will degrade.

There are a few things you can do to slow down the degradation of your iPhone battery:

  • Avoid extreme temperatures: Don’t leave your phone in a hot car or in the cold.
  • Don’t let your battery run down too low: Try to keep your battery between 20% and 80% charged.
  • Don’t charge your mobile phone overnight: Charging your smartphone overnight can shorten the lifespan of your battery.
  • Use a power-saving mode: If you’re running low on battery, you can use a power-saving mode to extend the battery life.
  • Get your battery replaced: If your battery is severely degraded, you can get it replaced at an Apple Store or an authorized service provider.

By following these tips, you can help to slow down the degradation of your iPhone battery and extend its lifespan
